The Main Qualifications for an Altius Participant

The desire to model and live out Christian leadership through serving their local community in the areas that they have committed to (youth group, school faith clubs, sports teams, etc.)

It is highly recommended that the participant is already committed to a leadership role in a specific group, however it is not obligatory.

The willingness to take on a deep and committed involvement in this program with enough maturity and dedication.

The willingness to commit and live out the Altius Creed which lays out specific faith and moral standards for the members, challenging them to strive for sanctity and excellence in virtue from the get-go. 

Applicants need to have a formal recommendation from their youth directors/ministers/pastors before being accepted.

SPIRITUALITY

Live a solid and committed Catholic lifestyle (Sunday mass, frequent confession, occasional adoration and praying of the rosary)

COMMUNITY

Intentionally seeking good, healthy, and holy friendships and being a good example of Christian life with those around you.

DISCIPLESHIP

Seeking to be led by proper spiritual mentors (spiritual direction and coaching with a priest, teacher, youth minister, campus minister, etc.)

APOSTLESHIP

Committed to serving in any concrete/specific area of ministry or faith-based organization within your school or parish.

FORMATION

Intentionally nourishing yourself with deep formative content (faith-based, virtue-based, etc.) and avoiding worldly and toxic content through social media and other sources of the sort.
